The YouTube sensation is on the steady rise in South Africa, with various vlogs (video blogs) popping up every other week, the platform is slowly becoming a new favorite for couples, groups and individuals alike to showcase their work and create content that continues to shape the ever-changing landscape of pop culture. We have rounded up some of our favorite local vloggers who we can’t get enough of right now.

Zuki & Karabo

Zukhanye Ncapayi and Karabo Motsoane are one of the local couple vloggers that are taking advantage of the rise in blogging. Although they only recently joined the YouTube wave their channel has become an instant hit. Their content is funny and relatable and a go to place if you’re looking for a good laugh.

Minky Mothabela

Minky Mothabela is on the quick rise with her YouTube channel. The JHB-based beauty vlogger shares everything from beauty tips to letting her followers in on her personal life. She has worked with numerous beauty brands such as NYX Cosmetics and Clinique. Her bubbly personality and user-friendly tutorials are great for anyone looking to bump up their beauty and make up skills.

Nape & Kim

I’m sure you remember the first time they hit our TV screens on ‘The Rich Kids’ reality show on Vuzu. Since their TV debut Nape Phasha and Kim Staffa have become one of Jozi’s favourite couples as their fans try to keep up with their matching outfits and dreamy baecations around the world. So it was a no brainer when the pair announced that they will be launching a YouTube channel; naturally their followers have clamoured to their weekly drops with insatiable excitement. The couple is somewhat private and the channel has been a perfect platform for their fans to get a glimpse into their lives and relatable personalities.

Microwave Boys

One of the first to branch out into SA blogging IS the well-known and hilarious, Microwave Boys. With close to 50 episodes and over 10k subscribers, Larry, Sipho and Sphaka have been consistent with delivering dope content that has been both informative and funny. With the likes of Cassper Nyovest and fellow vlogger Mihlali Ndamase making guest appearances on the show, they know how to reel in and enthral their audience. The trio has recently landed a big gig hosting #TheBreakFastWave on Touch HD and they regularly host numerous events and festivals.

The Suburban Zulu

Lelo Macheke is the brains behind The Suburban Zulu Talk Show, a conversational talk show that explores “romance, growing pains and the politics of being”. The show is one of the unique ones as Lelo speaks on matters often shone away from. Thought provoking yet comical, he strikes the perfect balance that makes for a memorable show.
