MultiChoice has launched DStv Stream, the latest addition to the entertainment giant’s offering, which allows customers to sign up online and watch DStv as a standalone streaming service. That means no decoder, no dish, and no installation is required for your home of entertainment, all you need is a smart device and a stable internet connection.
From the 1st August 2023, new customers will be able to sign up online in minutes for the streamlined service. Existing subscribers simply need to update their DStv Now app from their favourite app store and log in with the same credentials they’ve been using on DStv Now. If you haven’t registered yet, you can create an account on DStv.com, link it to your active subscription and then use those login credentials to start streaming on the DStv Stream app.
The newly renovated streaming platform has kept your favourites, profiles, account information, viewing history, watch lists, downloads, Catch-Up, and BoxOffice on the service, but there’ve been a few additions for your viewing pleasure.
They’ve promised a smoother streaming experience, and added the ability to personalize your home page, making it easier to discover the content you most enjoy. You now also have the ability to change soundtracks to your local language, where available. This means live sport commentary can be heard in IsiZulu, isiXhosa, Portuguese, Afrikaans, and English.
Sport lovers will also have improved navigation with the league and tournament pages feature, which will make following your favourite teams, competitions, and leagues a much more intuitive experience.
Together with the launch of Stream, the 1st of August comes with an extra stream, available on mobile devices and laptops, both for decoder and streaming customers, allowing you to download content for on-demand viewing.
“From the initial launch of the first decoder to pioneering digital satellite TV and now with DStv Stream, what drives innovation for us, is providing our customers with the content they love, in the way that’s best for them.” says Marc Jury, CEO of MultiChoice South Africa.
“The launch of DStv Stream is just the start. As the home of entertainment, sport and local we will continue to deliver unrivalled value and choice for our customers. This way, every single South African can enjoy the magic of our content. Watch this space!” adds Jury.
