Deezer has named Langa Mavuso as part of its NEXT class of 2020. The program, which began in 2017, provides artists with 12 months of dedicated support from Deezer’s Artist Marketing and Editorial teams. This includes playlisting and creative marketing campaigns involving special content, fan events and social media amplification.
The global streaming service has selected the singer-songwriter as a local priority act for South Africa. Alumni of the programme include Lewis Capaldi, Jorja Smith and Rag’n’Bone Man.
One of SA’s finest RnB artists, Mavuso has made his mark on the local scene over the past few years with two EPs and a number of singles released. “Sunday Blues” is undoubtedly his most popular track and has been licensed for use in TV shows, but there’s more on the way as the talented muso is currently working on his debut album.
Of the collaboration, he said, “It’s a huge honour to be selected as part of Deezer NEXT 2020. I can’t wait for fans to see future projects we have coming up.”
