“05:21” is the sophomore mixtape by rapper “Mo Artwell” who was born and bred in the Vaal but currently resides in Cape Town completing an LLB degree at the University of the Western Cape.
“05:21” is actually symbolic for the rapper’s birthday which falls on the 21st of May (1994), this date is also significant because it is also the birth date of the rapper’s favourite Rapper of all time “The Notorious B.I.G”
“05:21” is comprised of 13 scintillating tracks ranging from sombre moods reminiscent of boom bap, from the first track to track 5. The Mixtape takes a turn at track 6 “Boss Up” which was produced by the super talented “Hopemasta”. Who also produced majority of the tape. However Mo Artwell also flexed his production chops on “05:21”, “Bad Bad”. “Last Time” and “P.D.M.A.S”
The tape then instantly turns into a party when Track 7 “Jiggy” starts, which features Krypto and Espiquet. The tape then ends with a current crowd favourite and single to the tape “Aluta” featuring Hopemasta, Espiquet and Krypto
