adidas Originals CAMPUS | AREA3 CPT ’17

Originality is constant. It’s not a journey with a distance of thinking. It’s not a calculated and curated process. It’s off the cuff  –  and hesitancy is its biggest enemy.  Campus has always been a genuine participant to the cultures that thrive within the city, maintaining street-level respect over the years.

Starting off on the basketball court back in the 80’s, Campus was released as an all-round shoe built for sport.  Later with the explosion of hip hop the classic suede low top formed part of a powerful moment in fashion that saw key styles being claimed from sport by the street.

Today adidas Originals brings back the iconic Campus. The 80’s base trimmed and tweaked, blending elements from the archive to create the ultimate silhouette.

Campus isn’t afraid of being itself – gritty, on edge and ever- present – recognised as a mark of raw authenticity by those who live life uncurated.

To the support the launch of three key product stories in June, July and August adidas Originals presents AREA3 CPT ’17. A co-creation space underpinned by design, supported by a real time publishing approach and powered by the youth of South Africa.

AREA3 CPT ’17 offers a space and platform for the youth to engage with the brand, reinterpret key product stories and experience a real life creative industry environment. The end goal? To inspire young creatives with adidas and ignite their passion to create.

The Creative Directors, stylist Gabrielle Kannemeyer and photographer Imraan Christian, will assist the young creatives with the conceptualisation of their content ideas, styling and shoot production, while playing a mentorship role over the three month period.

The studio is open on Saturday and Sundays, simply email the space manager raees@area3.co.za to book your slot.

adidas Originals will also be presenting a series Talks and Workshops every Friday hosted by credible creatives, who will discuss what they do, how they got into their creative discipline and will answer questions from the guests. In the Workshops they will take on a more hands on approach in imparting some skills and techniques from their creative discipline. For more information check out the blog on www.area3.co.za or email raees@area3.co.za.
