South African Grammy Award winning DJ Black Coffee announced on Friday that he will headline a show at Madison Square Garden in New York this October. He becomes be the first South African artist to do so.

Taking to his social media to make the announcement, he said, “It’s always been one of my biggest dreams to take this music and sound to the highest level possible and to expose it to the largest audience imaginable and so I’ve dreamt of my @thegarden debut for many years — it’s finally a reality!”

The DJ is no stranger to US audiences. He sold out three shows at the Brooklyn Mirage last October, in what has been a long line of performances on the continent over many years. His largest US show to date, the October performance will feature him, a 12-piece orchestra, surprise guests and a 360-degree stage setup.

He said in a statement, “Today’s announcement is one of those that just becomes difficult to put into words. As a performer sharing a stage that has hosted some of the greatest artists from all different genres and backgrounds just makes it all so real! I’m completely honored to make my Madison Square Garden debut in 2023!”
