New Dates Have Been Announced For Three Day Festival “For The Youth Weekender”

Soulistic Agency has announced new dates for their three day festival For The Youth Weekender. This show was previously scheduled for the weekend of 18 June 2021 as a Youth Day celebration but had to be postponed due to pike in Covid-19 infection rates in the Gauteng province that resulted in a tightening of lockdown regulations and restrictions on eventing. The new dates for the show will be another significant day on South African calendar, the weekend of Heritage day 24 -27 September 2021.

The festival makes a comeback with a series of Apple Music playlists curated by show headliners, kicking off with We Don’t Play the Same Gqom, followed by Playtime Playroom and Africa Is Not A Jungle.

The collaboration with visual artist WonderBuhle on the show’s artwork is still a meaningful creative take on celebrating the South African youth. The art piece is titled Sbukela Kunina II“As the name says Sbukela Kunina it is a direct message to the current leaders that as the youth we are looking to you for guidance.” Explained an excited WonderBuhle.The powerful visual of three young individuals standing with their hands held together to show unity and looking up to represent hope.  

The three days will be themed and curated with 3 touring stages, kicking off Friday, 24 September with “We Don’t Play The Same Gqom” a property founded by Que DJ from the award winning duo Distruction Boyz. Saturday, 25 September is PartyTime Playroom, a property founded by Uncle PartyTime and curated for the “New School” of Hip Hop to live and break into mainstream. The weekender will close off on Sunday 26 September with Africa Is Not A Jungle, a traveling stage created by Black Coffee to export Afro Tech and Deep House sound to the world. The new line up is expected to be announced in the coming weeks  

For The Youth Weekender is due to take place; 24 – 26  September 2021 at Carfax in Newtown, Johannesburg. Tickets are limited and are available now on Hero Ticket and will go for R570 for a full 3 day weekend pass.

PartyTime Playroom: Saturday, 25 September 2021 doors open at  12:00 – 23:30, 

Africa Is Not A Jungle: Sunday, 26 September 2021  doors open at 12:00 – 23:30.
