Blxckie is making certain that he never misses a season with the release of his latest EP, THE4MULA. Since making a mark in the industry along with Lucasrap on “Big Time Sh’lappa” back in 2020, he has released a project and/or had features during every quarter of every year to date. Following the release of his debut album B4Now, followed by B4Now (Deluxe) and his 4LUV EP, he has now released his latest project, the 9 track EP, THE4MULA.
Led by the hit single “kwenzekile”, with Madumane and Chang Cello, THE4MULA does its best to showcase all of Blxckie’s facets as an ever growing artist. It is an eclectic mix of amapiano, trap, R&B and hip hop. On songs like “plug call [freestyle]” and “abdullah flow freestyle [Redbull 64 Bars]”, Blxckie flexes his rapping acumen, whereas songs like “kwenzekile” and “phuthuka” reveals a more tribal side of Somnyama.
The features on the EP include DJ Maphorisa’s alter ego Madumane and Chang Cello as previously mentioned, as well as Mench, K1llbrady and Scumie. The bulk of the production is handled by Swervo, with additional production by London Rhodes and Herc Cut The Lights, KindlyNxsh and hercule$, as well as Crxigcreates.
