After a two year hiatus, DStv Delicious will return in 2022 and Burna Boy is to headline the festival. At a media launch on Wednesday night, festival organisers made the announcement that the international food and music festival is to return on Heritage Day weekend and, as custom, will be hosted at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
Burna Boy is to headline this year’s festival on Saturday night and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is to be the star of the show for Sunday’s affair. Hip hop trio Digable Planets and English EDM collective Stereo MCs add to the international acts and a host of local talent round up the music entertainment for the weekend. This is only the first wave of artists announced and we’ve been assured of more announcements to come over the next few weeks.
One of the notable differences of the goings-on of this year’s festival is that the ticket alone will not grant you entry to the festival. Festival organisers also announced that attendees will also be required to bring along a non-perishable food item to be distributed to the less fortunate. ““Along with a phenomenal line-up, we will be doing everything we can to support local communities through our partnership with Chefs with Compassion. While celebrating the good times, we must also remember our less-fortunate fellow citizens and invite our fans to do the same. DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival will show up in 2022 – so make sure you do, too,” said Nokuthula Monaheng, the festival’s Media Director.
