DBN GOGO Releases New Single “Uyathandeka” From Her Upcoming Debut Solo Album

Having cut her teeth in the industry through collaborations with other amapiano artists such as Unlimited Soul (2021’s Breakthrough) and Dhino (2020’s Thokoza Cafe), DBN Gogo is gearing up to release her debut solo project, What’s Real. In doing so, she has released a brand new single titled “Uyathandeka”, featuring Stixx, BoiBizza and amapiano vocalist MaWhoo, which serves as the first single off the upcoming album.

“Uyathandeka”‘ is a mellow ampiano cut, that’s more of a love song, owing to its lyrics that centre on a love interest being serenaded with words and sentences such as “I want you and you want me… uyathandeka, uyang’chaza, uyangijabulisa makahleka… Can I touch your body? I wanna squeeze it nicely…”. The instrumental spots the usual amapiano main characteristic of a consistent log-drum, while there is a sweet guitar riff interspersed throughout the song.

What’s Real, which is produced by DBN Gogo, will be released under a joint partnership between DBN Gogo’s label, Zikode Records, and Universal Music. Firmly placed at the epicentre of amapiano, DBN Gogo has built a name for herself as one of the foremost amapiano artists through her many exploits, including touring internationally and representing South Africa with the genre.

She has been featured on the BBC radio platform, appeared on the Times Square billboard and was part of the Spotify Radar, a programme which spotlights and finds emerging artists across the world. It is her talent and all the aforementioned achievements that make her upcoming solo debut album, What’s Real, one of the most anticipated amapiano albums of the year.
