DStv, is bringing their weekly ‘what to watch guides’ to life in a bid to offer their customers more information on the best movies and shows to indulge in. By launching a new YouTube series on their channel, this new format hopes to bring all of DStv’s content together in the form of snackable highlights and also allows viewers the opportunity to discover new content as well as plan their weekly viewing. The show will be presented weekly via DStv’s YouTube channel and will cleverly be titled: “Oh, Snack!”, the show will premiere in June.
DStv is remaining true to their commitment of Loving Local and their promise of unearthing new talent as Oh Snack!, the new YouTube show, kickstarts this with the search for two individuals between the ages of 19 and 24 to present and be the face of this new form of content. The call to entry has hit the Internet and DStv channels alike with a bright, cheeky promo, once the competition closes on the 12th of May, entrants will be shortlisted and a lucky few called for in-studio auditions, where the lucky two will be selected, based on their personality, comfort in front of a camera and vibe with each other. Interested ‘snacks’ are to review any DStv show in between two and five minutes, upload it to their own YouTube channels using #OhSnack and finish the entry form on the DStv website.
Oh Snack! aims to bring content to the right customers on the right device at the right time and the new presenters will review local originals, top international dramas and comedies, controversial reality series, thought-provoking documentaries, movies and sport, helping DStv customers to plan their viewing. The Oh Snack! team will also interview stars who are exiting from, returning to or guest-starring on fan faves and point out when and all the platforms that DStv customers can watch their chosen content on, from the DStv app to the website or the DStv Explora.
Sounds easy enough right, here is the entry checklist:
– Aged between 19 and 24.
– Based in Johannesburg or willing to relocate.
– You know what’s what on TV, aren’t afraid to give it a Ncah or Nah, and want to let your ride-or-dies know what their next big show should be – because you are the content plug!
Successful or not, Oh Snack! entrants will be featured as part of a mini-behind-the-scenes documentary which will be filmed during the audition phases, ensuring that entrants get maximum exposure.
