Music streaming app – JOOX – has collaborated with Styla Gang Original Designs (S.G.O.D) to create a range of limited-edition, branded merchandise. The exclusive line will launch at the upcoming Rocking The Daisies festival taking place between the 4th-6th of October.
“We are proud to have partnered with S.G.O.D to create our limited-edition merchandise, they are a group of young and ambitious entrepreneurs with a focus on the upliftment of youth culture through fashion and music projects. The designs are phenomenal and the work ethic is second to none,” says Senior Marketing Manager at Tencent Africa, Mike Jones.
“The collaboration with S.G.O.D is one of many on the way, where we look to support local entrepreneurs and businesses within the music and culture space,” adds Jones. S.G.O.D is one of the hottest street fashion brands in the country at the moment, with many SA rappers, producers and celebs sporting the famous attire. Some of these well-known celebs include Kim Jayde, Emtee, DJ Raybel, Boity and more.
The brand, which is based in Soweto’s Zone 6, was founded back in 2012 by Mpho Makau and six of his, then fresh out of high school, business partners. Together, the group has since worked on various areas of the brand and have, over the past 7 years, built the brand into one of SA’s most sought after urban brands.
The collaboration will see fans of JOOX and S.G.O.D get to purchase an assortment of merchandise that includes waist pouches, t-shirts, shorts, bucket hats and tactical street vests. Some of the artists who will be sporting the fresh merch at Rocking The Daisies include Killer Kau and Kamo Mphela.
“The past few years have been amazing in the growth of S.G.O.D. and the collaboration with JOOX is dope and we hope to build on this relationship with more collaborations in the future.
