The International Pantsula Okmalumkoolkat has dropped visuals for one of the stand-out tracks from his epic debut album.
“Amolobolo (slow jame sa se kasi)” is, as Nolifa Majozi describes it “a poetic short film about a forbidden love between two young lovers who come from worlds apart. Against the struggles of class, the two begin to fall deeply in love with each other. This beautiful Zulu love story takes place in the warm city of Durban, South Africa, showing you both sides of South Africa’s playground through the lives of Smanga ( Simiso Zwane aka okmalumkoolkat ) who will do whatever it takes to win the heart of Noluthando ( Princess Zulu ) an alluring girl from a white-picket-fence background of Umhlanga Rocks. The chance meeting of these two lovers makes for a picturesque local takle of the struggle of money, class and love”.
