Roiii debuts with Good City Bad Roads in a creative adaptation of language

One of the breakout stars from the 2020 smash hit “Cold Summer” by SKHANDAWORLD, Roiii has released his debut body of work. This comes in the form of a much anticipated EP titled Good City Bad Roads. Since his impressive showing on the single “Cold Summer”, along with fellow young rapper Loki, Roiii has gone to be unveiled as part of the new generation of the Skhanda empire veteran emcee K.O is building with the SKHANDAWORLD imprint and collective.

Roiii also played a major role in the 2021 SKHANDAWORLD compilation album, appearing on 5 of the 11 tracks, which included a solo performance on the song “La Vida Loca”. It is on that song that his drill chops were put to good use. Now with the new EP, Roiii delivers 7 tracks whose content ranges from love songs (“Take Time”), drill songs (“Krappa”), club bangers and heartfelt songs (“Vuka Khuphuka”). While Roiii holds his own most of the project, a few features on it include Cassper Nyovest (“La Vida Loca 2.0”) as well  Emtee (“Krappa”).

The SKHANDAWORLD rapper representing Pretoria has certainly lived up to all the noise he had been making in the streets and this EP indicates that his journey with SKHANDAWORLD has been a fruitful one thus far. While the EP is mostly drill inspired as we heard with his previous single “La Vida Loca”, Roiii perfectly uses the genre to his advantage and creatively uses his home languages, infusing language and music together.
