After Kanye made controversial statements around slavery and showed off his MAGA cap fellow artists and fans promised to boycott his music. Now that YE, his 8th album has dropped, it’s interesting to see how the numbers are looking like.
As soon as YE was released it hit No. 1 on the charts and all 7 tracks from the album topped both the Apple Music and Spotify charts.
But it doesn’t look like that many people are buying the album. Chart Data has projected that the album will only move around 175 – 190k units in the first week. This will make YE Kanye’s worst first week debut since he launched his legendary solo career with College Dropout.
So is the low debut a case of his music being boycotted or just fans feeling underwhelmed by the album? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
