Less than a month after releasing the heartfelt tribute song to the departed Riky Rick, YoungstaCPT has released an accompanying music video for “Dear Rikhado, Love Riyadh”. Clad in all black and walking the streets of Johannesburg on what looks like a somber day, he looks affected as he delivers his sincere letter to his colleague.
The Mzi Xander directed video spots a discernible clarity that manages to convey the spirit in which the song was done with. A man of the people himself, just like Riky was, Youngsta is seen walking through the streets of Johannesburg, Braamfontein, greeting fans he meets along the way, in the same manner Riky used to.
Footage of Youngsta performing “Dear Rikhado, Love Riyadh” at Cotton Fest in Newtown also make up most of the music video as it is interspersed throughout. Aerial shots of Johannesburg feature prominently as well. However, it is the footage of Riyadh and Rikhado at the end that is an absolute gutpunch.
