As the story goes… Tyler, The Creator began reinterpreting the Converse One Star in the summer of 2017, introducing his “flower” design to the silhouette that has come to define the signature GOLF le FLEUR* collection. Each iteration has taken fans into Tyler, The Creator’s world of expression. At times a bold interpretation of two-tone suede and at others a subdued palette of monochrome hues, Tyler, The Creator’s creative choices lend his distinct point of view on style to the signature sneaker.
Now, the collaborative GOLF le FLEUR* once again enters a new chapter. Tyler, The Creator and Converse have expanded the “Flower Boy” motif beyond the sneaker’s signature floral design by creating a burlap One Star and for the first time a Chuck 70 capsule in burlap and vintage parchment canvas. As Tyler, The Creator’s relationship with Converse has evolved, so has his choice of sneaker staples. The Chuck 70, a modern ode to the Chuck Taylor as it was in 1971, reflects the collection’s – and the artist’s – ongoing sartorial evolution.
The burlap-inspired aesthetic carries onto the capsule’s accompanying apparel, an open weave fabric anorak, available in the colors Curry and Natural.
Converse and Tyler the Creator’s GOLF le FLEUR* collection debuted its return at Camp Flog Gnaw in LA, November 10 -11.
Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* drops locally 15/11/2018 at Shelflife, Shesha, Jack Lemkus, Archive and Converse Sandton, MOA, Canal Walk, Menlyn and Gateway.
