adidas and Beyoncé announced a new partnership in April 2019 with the relaunch of her Ivy Park athleisure and apparel brand. At the time, she said “This is the partnership of a lifetime for me. adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.”
Fast forward to 2020 and the star has been leading up to the release of the collection with snippets of it on her social media. She’s also made an announcement that the collection will be gender-neutral. In an interview with Elle Magazine in December, she said “I focused on designing a unisex collection of footwear and apparel because I saw so many men in IVY PARK. The way they have embraced the brand is an unexpected gift. I appreciate the beauty of gender-neutral clothing and breaking the so-called fashion rules.”
A first for the Ivy Park brand, there will be four different kind of sneakers that form part of the collection; two variations of the adidas Nite Jogger, one variation of the adidas Ultra Boost, and the new Super Sleek 72. All in addition to the apparel range, it releases on January 18 online at adidas.co.za and at adidas Originals Sandton City Mall store.
