CottonFest 2022

Everything you need to know about this weekend’s CottonFest

CottonFest is taking place this weekend at The Station in Newtown. The two-day festival has over 100 artists confirmed to perform this weekend over three different stages and the theme for the event is “University and Campus”. This year’s theme means you get to experience the festival through the lens of a campus feel. This includes the concert areas, merchandise, a cafeteria, sports areas, and even personal lockers.

The concert areas include the Cotton Stage, which will feature headline and legacy artists, the Bettr Stage, that plays host to the new wave artists, and the Jagërmeister Stage with house, electronic, and amapiano talent.

In what they’ve dubbed the Faculty of Cottonology, a number of local brands will be elevating your drip. The Grade Africa, SMB Baps, Backyard Group, Y?Gen Apparel, SGOD, and Valhalla stations will have limited edition collaborative merchandise for sale. The official CottonFest x Puma merch will also be on sale and will have a customisation station for you to get creative with your purchases.

The sports areas include a skate park, hosted by Day Marumo, with live skating competitions and prizes, as well as a half-court basketball area. MTV Base is also hosting a Dance Nation station with a dance competition, giveaways, and a gaming area.

Adoozy Power will service all your power needs. They will have a mobile power station at the festival, allowing you to rent a portable power bank for the weekend.

The artist lineup is a mammoth, split between Saturday and Sunday. If you’re not able to attend, however, the festival will be live-streamed on www.live.cottonfest.co.za.

Late Registration is still open, get your tickets for the weekend here.
