K.O released “SETE”, featuring Amapiano star Young Stunna and fellow rapper Blxckie, in August 2022. To put it into context, it has spent 10 weeks at number one on TOSAC, breaking the record for the fastest gold single in TOSAC history and being certified platinum in just 16 days following its release. During these 10 weeks, the song’s streams averaged between 700 000 and 1.3 million views per week. and it has now joined Master KG’s Jerusalema as the only South African song in Spotify history to amass over 300 0000 streams per week . “SETE” has additionally, reached 10 million views on YouTube since the official release of the visuals.

The chart week runs from Friday to Thursday. The presentation of the plaque is one of many new TOSAC initiatives aimed at acknowledging the achievements of artists.
RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi enthused: “”SETE” has undoubtedly been one of the biggest music singles to come out of South Africa in 2022. After its release in August it was a staple on radio, streaming platforms, clubs, taxis, and gatherings alike. Perhaps the song’s biggest appeal is how it seamlessly brings the Hip Hop and Amapiano genres together. We are proud to have presented this certificate to K.O in acknowledgement of the milestones reached by this song. Our local artists continue to reinvigorate and drive the growth of the South African music industry and we are excited about what more to expect from our artists particularly as we enter the festive season”.
Speaking on the song, the man of the hour himself said, “Having been in the industry for a significant time, I am in awe that I am still able to set and break records. I have the opportunity to all set new milestones for South African music culture and that is truly an amazing feeling. I share this moment with Blxckie and Young Stunna; I am proud of the work that we put into “SETE”. Of course, I am also grateful to all the music lovers who streamed and shared the song as well as every music platform that afforded us airplay.”
K.O is a well-respected veteran who has been in the game and survived many seasons. While “SETE” is a phenomenal song in his catalogue, it’s worth mentioning that he is no stranger to having an extremely popular song that burns up the charts. His 2014 hit single “Caracara” was virtually a cultural reset, given how popular and loved it was. Not only was it a banger, it went on to influence aspects of fashion as well as re-popularising the Volkswagen Minibus of which the concept of the entire song was based on. It’s good to see him back on the very top of the music chain and doing well for himself. Congratulations to him for the 10 million streams plaque.
