Uno July has released the official Native Yards 57 music video featuring Youngsta.“I felt like the image that is portrayed by hip hop music is more glamorized and always based on materialism,” Uno said. “Ideally, I would like to bring it back to the essence and celebrate the music.” Uno, who is originally from Gugulethu, said the song became a “fan favourite” due to its rural sound. The track is named after Uno’s street in Gugulethu, Native Yard 57. All the streets in Gugulethu, Uno said, are named Native Yard, followed by a number. Although Uno July recognizes that the title could have a negative connotation, he said the song is about embracing where he came from. “It makes a strong statement,” he said.
