The much loved hybrid festival celebrating South African music, fashion and sport, Cotton Fest, has confirmed its line-up for the 2023 edition scheduled to be held in Johannesburg on 04 February.
Founded by the late Riky Rick, Cotton Fest has quickly risen above the ranks as one of the most anticipated and attended arts and culture festivals in South Africa. Now poised to host its fifth edition after four successful editions that started in Johannesburg, even branching out to Cape Town, the festival promises to be an epic celebration of local talent.
Over 160 local acts have been confirmed on the lineup, which will see them performing on three different energy packed stages set up in various parts of the spacious venue ( The Old Railway Station, Carr St, Newtown). The lineup includes an eclectic group of acts, spanning different genres – hip hop, amapiano, R&B and house music. From established legends (the likes of Cassper Nyovest and K.O), to cult heroes (A-Reece, Okmalumkoolkat, YoungstaCPT, ANATII, Emtee, etc.), fan favorites (Focalistic, DBN GOGO, DJ Maphorisa, Oscar Mbo, Mas Musiq, Uncle Vinny, Uncle Waffles, Young Stunna, etc.), singing sensations (Elaine, Fif_Laaa, etc.) as well as rising stars (Stino Le Thwenny, Notbenjamin, Espiquet, Zadok, etc.).
Fashion and sport will be catered for at the festival, with initiatives that include The Tuckshop, which is a retail fashion store. For sport, there will be an unconventional sports area where a live skateboard competition will be held, as well as a customisation station for a half-court basketball showcase, including a court live art installation. There will also be a university style cafeteria serving as the food court at the festival.
The 2023 edition of Cotton Fest is powered by Puma, Jagermeister, Stimorol, Vuse, Oros, Red Bull, Adoozy, Spotify, Klipdrift, Count Pushkin, 4th Street Wine, Hunters, NBA Africa and exclusive broadcasting partners YFM and Trace Urban.
Limited PHASE 2 tickets are available via Webtickets and Pick ‘n Pay outlets nationwide. The festival will this year also see an expansion of its footprint, with a new space inside the festival space known as The Lot, via a partnership between Cotton Fest and JHC Housing.
