Money Badoo Releases Debut Album PORN$TAR

After a string of well-received singles that include songs like “All My Friends”, “MK Ultra” and “LIL BIH (Remix)”, Money Badoo has finally released her debut album, audaciously titled PORN$TAR. The album was preceded by the Rickey Tyler assisted single “47K$” released in 2021. The second single “PI$TOL POP” was released on April 14, 2022 and within a month, the long awaited PORN$TAR was released in its entirety.

With an approximate run time of 30 minutes, PORN$TAR is a succinct 10-track album that goes a long way in its brevity. It showcases Money’s artistic range within the R&B and hip hop genres – case in point being SA hip hop’s golden child Maglera Doe Boy delivering the intro, weaving a slang-laden spoken word piece on M.O.N.E.Y. on the album opener  “K.R.E.A.M (Intro)”

As per the album title, the subject matter dealt with in the album leans more towards sexually provocative and assertive sensibilities (“cum 2 me”, “PORN$TAR”) however, that is not only what Money addresses. “47K$” reveals a softer side where along with Rickey Tyler, they ruminate on genuine companionship. “g2g” falls within that ambit as well, as Money sings “I been doing better baby, would you miss me when I’m not around, do you wonder if I’d still be down to talk it out, let’s talk it out…”.

The production on the album is handled mostly by Cape Town born producer Mars Baby as well as NotBenjamin, with DJ Sliqe and Kimishibeats also getting production credits. The other features include, lordkez, Yanga Chief and DJ Sliqe.
