Nadia Nakai and Emtee switch bars effortlessly on “40 Bars”

Nadia Nakai surprised us today with her first single since her album release, and boy did she come on strong! Produced by PatricKxxLee, she released “40 Bars” today and we’re loving the braggadocio bars traded effortlessly with Emtee.

Bragga’s flow is insane. She also gives a nod to Emtee on her lyrics with “thought that I wouldn’t re-up/ I look at the style like ‘we’re up’/ Look at the records we broke, all the shows and the tours man, we gotta be up.” The pioneer of the African Trap Movement, Emtee is at his finest on this track as well, letting us know “I know I’ve been gone for a minute/ it’s time to take back the city.”

Of the collabo, Nadia said “Working with Emtee and Capital has been so dope, what we share in common is the hunger for people to hear our thoughts through our music and that’s why this song is 40 bars vs 16 bars- because we have a lot to say LOL. I hope true Hip Hop fans enjoy this one because we are taking it back!”
