Inkabi Zezwe, made up of rappers Sjava and Big Zulu, have unveiled their capsule collection with Butan. The musicians, both born in Bergville in KwaZulu-Natal, drew inspiration from their hometown in the design, paying homage to elder generations with the collection.
The once-off collection will be made available later this month and captures the duality of city life with Bergville roots. Visuals for the collection were shot in Marshalltown, in typical Inkabi Zezwe style. They’ve noted that “the collection draws style inspiration from the way their uncles and older brothers who raised them used to dress when heading into town on errands. It’s a nostalgic journey that transcends generations.”
With the collection speaking to their collective style inspiration, the duo see this as an extension of their artistic heritage. The collection will feature an array of items including the brand-new bomber jackets and the iconic rugby jersey. The Rugby Jersey is constructed from a breathable sports tech fabric with a soft hand feel. The leopard print pattern under the collar adds a dimension like no other. Adorned with an asymmetrical stripe detail and forgetting the custom artists’ badges.
While the Inkabi Zezwe x Butan collection is in all stores already, these two hot-ticket items will be available at all Butan official retailers, and Shesha stores nationwide on September 22nd.
